The classics...

Aleph One has rekindled my love of Marathon.

I downloaded the newest version, because apparently mine was outdated. I remember my brother telling me about Aleph One near the beginning, when it crashed every 5 minutes. But if you're one of those people like me who was driven off of it for that reason...take a look at how far it's come.

It's stable. And they've actually added a couple of cool things, like, say, running on OS X natively, not to mention Windows and Linux. Yes...you can now, through Aleph One, play the entire Marathon trilogy (they did a conversion of the original, look for it) with any of those operating systems. Not to mention cross-platform net play.

It's not perfect, and it's remarkably hard for me to find anybody else with the same interest in this classic as me. But those of you who want to see what Bungie was doing before Halo...the story of the Pfhor, the U.E.S.C. Marathon, Tau Ceti, the S'pht, and why those guys keep talking about 'bob'...look at it.

But I'm also the kind of guy who went back and played a bunch of old Dragon Quest games because I thought the newer ones were a lot of fun.

If anybody's confused with the process or where to find stuff, I guess you can comment. I don't bite...I don't particularly like how the unwashed masses taste. I am a google ninja, so sometimes I forget how it is for people who can't find stuff.
